Biographie
Baptiste Guaréton est un batteur, compositeur de jazz originaire de Montluçon. Très tôt intéressé par la musique, il commence à pratiquer sur la batterie de son père. Influencé par différents styles de musique pendant son enfance, c’est à l’adolescence qu’il se passionne pour le Jazz et l’improvisation, notamment grâce à la musique de Charlie Parker, du second quintet de Miles Davis, du Quartet de John Coltrane et des formations de John Scofield. En 2015, il s’installe à Tours et étudie au département de Musicologie de l’Université de Tours, puis à Jazz à Tours, et au C.R.R. Francis Poulenc. Après ses études, le batteur s’envole pour New York où il pourra étudier aux côtés du batteur Joe Farnsworth, et fréquenter la scène Jazz new yorkaise. A son retour en France, très inspiré par cette expérience américaine, Baptiste décide de monter la propre formation : son ACIREMA Quartet (EP “Far From Home”). Influencé par des musiciens comme Bill Stewart, Jochen Rueckert, Tony Willams ou Elvin Jones, il se produit sur la scène jazz française, notamment avec Züper Trio, et enseigne la batterie au sein du conservatoire du Mans.
Baptiste Guaréton is a Jazz drummer, composer from Montluçon (France). Early interested in music he starts playing on his father’s drumset. Influenced by different styles of music during his childhood, it was during his adolescence that he became passionate about Jazz and improvisation by listening Charlie Parker, the Miles Davis Quintet, John Coltrane’s Quartet and several bands of John Scofield. In 2015 he moved to the city of Tours and studied musicology at the University of Tours, then he studied Jazz and Dums in the school “Jazz à Tours” and at the Conservatory of Tours. After his studies he flied to New York where he studied with the drummer Joe Farnsworth, and discovered the New York Jazz Scene. As he returned to France, inspired by this american experience, Baptiste worked on the creation of his own band : ACIREMA Quartet. Nowadays influenced by musicians such as Bill Stewart, Jochen Rueckert, Tony Williams or Elvin Jones, he regularly performs on the french Jazz scene especially with Züper Trio, and he teches drums in the Conservatory of Le Mans.
